Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN  ) inked a multi-year deal with Viacom (NASDAQ: VIAB  ) on Tuesday that gives the e-tailer exclusive rights to hundreds of children's shows, including popular programs such as "Dora the Explorer" and "Blue's Clues." The deal gives Amazon an edge against Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX  ) in the all-important children's content category. This comes after Netflix failed to renew its contract with Viacom last month in favor of more affordable offerings from Disney.

This is a nice deal for Netflix, and it might help to replace some of the lost content that Amazon (AMZN) picked up when Amazon agreed to a deal with Viacom (VIAB). Critics argued that Netflix was not catering to the children's genre, but the Dreamworks deal will certainly help. But before we can fully celebrate this original programming milestone, let's not forget that the first show won't be until 2014, at the earliest (excluding Turbo F.A.S.T.). Like some of Netflix's other deals, subscribers will have to wait for this content. Also, as financial terms are not released, some may question how expensive this deal is for Netflix. Dreamworks will receive a hefty sum, and should benefit greatly from the deal.

Advisors' Opinion:

The two Marine Transportation MLPs that are taxed as MLPs are Dynagas LNG Partners (Nasdaq: DLNG) and Teekay LNG Partners (NYSE: TGP). The latter has 29 LNG carriers, and has already agreed to charter two of its ships to the first US LNG export venture. We actually favor TGP over GMLP.

  • [By Value Investor]

In terms of valuation the company is trading at an attractive price and investors can consider this as a good investment point. GasLog Partners has the lowest EV/EBITDA and EV/Revenue compared to peers such as Golar LNG (GLNG) and Teekay LNG Partners (TGP). A low EV/EBITDA and EV/Revenue suggests undervaluation of the company and hence a good value investment.

We are upgrading our recommendation on shares of Teekay Corp. to Buy from Hold, and raising our 12-month price target to $90 from $68. The revision reflects the company’s bold new dividend strategy outlined after today’s market close and ahead of its analyst day tomorrow. The new plan includes an 80% increase in its annual dividend effective 1Q15 (to $2.25 at the midpoint vs. $1.265 today), and a policy aimed at linking future div increases to cash flow growth at its two MLP subsidiaries [Teekay LNG Partners (TGP) & Teekay Offshore Partners (TOO)]. The result should be 20%/year grow in Teekay’s dividend for the foreseeable future, which together with today’s increase, easily justify a $90+ share price in the relatively near-term.

Aside from the potential growth in exports from North America, Australia looks to be the largest contributor to the growth of natural gas finding its way into the international trade market. Transportation of natural gas chilled to temperatures as low as -260 degrees Fahrenheit certainly requires a high degree of skilled execution. That's where Teekay LNG Partners (NYSE: TGP  ) enters the picture. With a fleet much younger than the industry average and a distribution over 6%, it could be a great second-degree play on the coming trend.

Leading the charge higher is solar panel specialist First Solar (NASDAQ: FSLR  ) , which advanced 11.8% after securing a deal to sell its 139MW Campo Verde solar farm to Southern Company and its partner Turner Renewable Energy. Utilities like Southern Co. are scrambling to incorporate renewable energies into their portfolio as the traditional costs of nuclear energy rise in price. First Solar continues to find itself in better shape each week as China's solar panel producers struggle under a molehill of debt, weak pricing, and U.S. tariffs on Chinese solar panels.
